About this Design
“A pile of roof slates remaining after a loft conversion and destined for the skip instead, became the material for the start of the slate works. ‘I like the idea of working with slate because of the age and nature of the material. I am interested in the journey from the seabed to the quarry, from the quarry to the rooftop, and from the rooftop to the artwork.”
‘Ancient winter 3’ is made up of 2 chipped and textured slates, screwed onto board and depicting traces of a painted footprint and a circle/orb – please see ‘About Bob Barron’.
