About Maria Reis
Maria Reis is a self-taught artist, born and raised in northern Portugal. Art, in its various forms, from music to haute couture, is in her family's DNA. A woman of multiple interests, for years she dedicated herself part-time to jewelry design. Her restless spirit and fascination for all unusual art as well as passion for mixing chromatic colors and textures, were the motivation for her to dive into acrylic painting world, twenty years ago. It was through it that she found her erratic profile as a visual artist.
Over the years, she has developed her own techniques. She uses unlikely materials on the canvas, creating provocative visual and tactile effects that give her an artistic identity. The author's works of art are scarce and are rarely sold publicly.
