VELGAL, 2023

Stefano Mazzolini's VELGAL features an abstract composition dominated by a vibrant monochrome palette, interrupted by a hint of yellow. Dynamic, gestural black forms stand out against a soft, nuanced background, creating a powerful contrast. Vertical streaks of color lend depth and movement, while sharp lines and sinuous curves suggest organic and calligraphic elements. A thin white streak runs across the canvas, adding a focal point. Created with oil and acrylic on canvas, the work captures a visceral energy through the fluidity and layering of pigments.
