About Anna Tasheva

I believe every painting begins long before the first brushstroke. Mine began the day I left home.

I am Anna Tasheva.
I was born in Ukraine and now live in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Yet one of the most defining chapters of my life began when I moved alone to the United States. In a new country, surrounded by unfamiliar faces, language, and culture, I experienced loneliness, uncertainty, and the quiet challenge of starting over.

About this Artwork

This expressive painting captures the powerful presence of an elephant through bold color contrasts and dynamic brushstrokes. Deep blues and blacks form a dramatic backdrop, while vibrant accents of orange, red, and violet bring energy and emotion to the composition. The textured layers and flowing movement highlight the elephant’s strength, wisdom, and quiet resilience.

Rather than focusing on realism, the artwork emphasizes character and feeling, transforming the elephant into a symbol of stability, endurance, and inner power. A striking contemporary piece that commands attention and adds depth to any space.
