Vio Valova

Vio is a contemporary artist based in the south of the Netherlands. Working across painting, drawing, and sculpture, she creates poetic visual narratives inspired by everyday observations, travel, memory, and imagination.

Her work balances humour and melancholy, combining recognisable elements with subtle absurdity and symbolism. Ordinary people, animals, objects, and fleeting encounters become starting points for stories that explore human behaviour, belonging, vulnerability, and the quiet drama of daily life.

Drawing on experiences of moving between cultures and places, Vio transforms personal observations into imaginative worlds that invite viewers to pause, look closer, and discover their own interpretations.
