Tywyn Y Fach, 2026

This painting captures the quiet beauty of the path at Tywyn y Fach, a hidden gem on the Llŷn Peninsula in North Wales, just beyond the lively seaside village of Abersoch. I was drawn to the way this narrow trail winds through vibrant gorse, coastal grasses and delicate wildflowers, leading the eye towards the sea beyond.
The rich colours, textures and natural forms of the coastal landscape evoke a sense of tranquillity and a deep connection with nature. The path offers a gentle transition from the intimacy of the countryside to the openness of the coastline, inviting us to slow down and appreciate the simple beauty of the world around us.
Through this painting, I hope to convey not only the charm of this special place, but also the feeling of discovery that comes from wandering along a familiar yet ever-changing path, where the colours and atmosphere shift with the seasons, the light and the sea.
