Snow Stopping by for a While, 2024

There has not been much snow over the last few winters in my country. I am starting to miss it and enjoy every little moment when it snows. Last weekend we had a real snow cover the way I remember from childhood. The ground was not expecting it. There were still autumn leaves on the trees and bushes. The river was running joyfully and not frozen in ice. And here came this wonderful contrast in colours evoked by the white snow cover. A beautiful winter day!

This original oil painting is made on stretched cotton canvas. Size is 40 x 40 cm. Depth 1 cm. The canvas is gallery-wrapped and painted on the sides, so the painting can be hung as it is without a frame if preferred.
