Breaking Through, 2018

A 36 x 48 x 2 inch original oil on canvas inspired by the book 'Jonathon Livingston Seagull' by Richard Bach. The painting shows a strong contrast between textured dark trees in the shadows and a sunset seen through them. A white bird has just left the darkness and broken into the light. Another bird can be seen in dark silhouette watching her on the right hand side. The book is a beautiful story about seeking higher states. Something I was trying to capture in this painting. It is on deep edge canvas, ready to hang, edges dark to match the dark red, purple and blues in the dark section of the painting.
