A quiet passageway in the historic walled town of Óbidos, Portugal, framed by whitewashed walls, weathered stone, traditional roof tiles and a graceful archway leading into the distance. I photographed this scene for its sense of stillness and timelessness, then softly edited the image to emphasise the muted tones, gentle light and aged character of the architecture.

The result has a subtle, dreamlike quality while retaining the distinctive textures and details of one of Portugal’s most atmospheric medieval towns. This work is part of my ongoing collection of photography inspired by the architecture, landscapes and quieter corners of Portugal.
