I suspect, like most figurative artists, I find drawing and painting the human form wholly embedded in human behaviour.

Artwork
This painting was the result of a friend describing his experience in the British Army Parachute Regiment, specifically the initial training.
Opaque pigments are used to lay down some areas, also acting as an undercoating for some subject matter. Subsequent thinner layers of acrylic paint have been applied. This thin, multiple layering of pigment allows for a degree of luminosity, avoiding the usual flat acrylic finish. Finished with a coat of varnish, the painting is not only protected but also has a unifying effect. From the same artist
