About this artwork

The evocation for this painting (and other anarkali paintings) was a trip to India in 2014. This young woman was seen at the Taj Mahal in Agra. Her anarkali dress was so brilliantly colourful and her demeanour so natural. The style has a nod towards the traditional Indian Mughal paintings.
