About Natalia Shchipakina

Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques oil painting is my favourite.

Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by such famous artists like Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan, Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso.

About this Artwork

This is the next painting in my series of bright world cities at night. I think Barcelona and the Sagrada Familia need no introduction. Hundreds and thousands of paintings have already been created on this topic. However, my work is special: I decided to add a little bit of surrealism (on the other hand, in our time it is already realism...). To be precise, the highlight of this picture is the satellites of Elon Musk, which are flying over the basilica. This is what the name of the canvas says. Surrealism? No, this is the new reality.

Like all my other paintings, this one is covered with a special varnish and painted on natural canvas with a stretcher.
