Dextrous Nude, 1984

A nude female figure painted tying her hair and loosely painted on a Studland cream board, which has a fine surface with good absorption. The mannered style of this figure with this type of board lends itself to a free style of painting. The work was originally painted in 1984 and has had some revision in 2022.

I apply the acrylic paint in a liquid form as the board absorbs the paint, so there is no need to worry about breaking down the paint binder. I use the artist's large hog's-hair brushes to manipulate the work to give it a robust rendition.

The work only needs framing to make it ready to hang. It should be framed under glass with a mount.
