An Awakening is an original oil painting of a female deer in a landscape of lakes, mountains and forests. It is 36x30x1.5 inches. The painting is semi-abstract, Art Nouveau and totally unique in style. A female fallow deer stands to the left, having emerged from the trees, with the hint of a lake and mountains beyond her. Vertical layering of transparent golden paint glazes makes the scene shimmer and reflect different colours when viewed at different angles, which gives it a jewel-like quality. The deer looks as if she is wondering about her life. A nice idea, although she is probably just wondering what to eat next, but I liked the idea that she could dream as humans do (and how do we know she can't?). Painted on 3D canvas, with white edges, ready to hang, and comes with a certificate of authenticity
