Dorset Calling is a panoramic oil painting of a glimpse of the Dorset coastline seen through blossom and brambles. It is 48 x 24 x 1.5 inches. The painting was inspired by a trip to Dorset in April 2025 and captures my enthusiasm on being there for the first time. The brambles were in flower and I like the poetry of seeing the enticing blue sea, coastline and countryside through their tangled barrier. A lone seagull can be seen, and there is a hint of farmland, cliff edge and springtime flowers. It was painted in thick, jubilant brush strokes and relies heavily on memory in order to better capture the feeling of joy I experienced there. Painted on deep-edge canvas, painted to match, ready to hang, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
