The Glade Portal is a very large oil painting of a springtime woodland glade with a river, barn owls, blossom and trees. It is 60 x 36 x 1.5 inches. The painting shows the view across a shallow river, with a meadow beyond gleaming through the trees at the edge. Two pale barn owls are flying across it, looking as if they have just escaped from somewhere else (hence the title). There is a hint of blossom and bluebells and the luminous colours of springtime in England. The painting was originally inspired by a walk I took in the High Weald of Sussex, where there are many forests, woodlands, streams and hills. There are always surprises around every corner, and it is not hard to feel you are in a fairy tale sometimes. This painting has a unique atmosphere to it, and the colours change in interesting ways depending on the light. It is painted on deep-edge canvas with white edges, ready to hang, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
