About Natalia Shchipakina

Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques oil painting is my favourite.

Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by such famous artists like Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan, Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso.

I painted this place from the feeling of being by the Mediterranean coast, where rocks, water, and light constantly change throughout the day. The colours are brighter than in reality, but that’s how I feel them — warm, fresh, and full of life. The waves move gently around the stones, and the whole scene feels calm and open, like a quiet moment by the sea. Oil, canvas. Signed. Varnished.
