About Natalia Shchipakina

Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques oil painting is my favourite.

Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by such famous artists like Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan, Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso.

Sitges is a small Mediterranean town on the coast of Catalonia, not far from Barcelona, known for its bright seaside architecture and relaxed atmosphere. This painting shows the town meeting the sea, where light-colored buildings stand close to the water and gentle waves roll onto the shore. Reflections of sunlight shimmer across the surface of the Mediterranean, creating a calm and welcoming coastal scene. Oil on canvas. Signed, varnished.
