He is one of the most remarkable emerging sculptors of the new artistic scene in Spain. He has taken part in more than 60 exhibitions, in Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands, and has won several prizes. His metallic work wanders around the idea of the sacred. He gets his inspirations from classical forms that he combines with modernity through a simplification exercise. One can sense the influence of great contemporary sculptors such as Noguchi, Chillida, Julio González and Richard Serra.

Canduela’s work, in welded metal sheets, is an outstanding pledge to sculptural quality, to good workmanship and to attention to detail.

About this sculpture

The sculpture shows, within its forcefulness, some curved shapes that allow the entire volume to be developed with a single twist. The effect of continuity achieved fights against the forcefulness of the basic features of this head — eyes and nose.

Its bestial appearance brings us closer to the convincing heads made by Oteiza for the Aranzazu monastery.

A sculpture made of patinated black that seeks to express the human head from an abstract point of view, with the influence of traditional African art and contemporary artists such as Jorge Oteiza.

Our Classic frames are made from high-quality wood with clean lines. The profile measures 20mm across the front and 22mm in depth. Available finishes depend on the selected print.

Mount

Our standard white mounts are 2.4mm thick. The mount border is 25mm, 38mm or 50mm wide, depending on the frame size. All mounts are conservation grade, FSC certified and 100% acid free.

Canvas

Our canvas prints are stretched and framed using a 12-colour Giclée process; providing you with spectacular quality each and every time.
