Tree Wisdom, 2026

This painting captures the iconic image of an archetypal symbol deeply rooted in our collective imagination. The solitary tree, a timeless motif in myth, legend, and folklore, is reminiscent of strength, wisdom and independence. Harnessing methods from Impressionist techniques and a unique use of materials, I sought to evoke a sense of atmosphere, memory and quiet contemplation. Layers of texture and expressive brushwork invite the viewer to look beyond the physical form of the tree, revealing it as a symbol of endurance, resilience and our enduring connection to the natural world. Standing alone yet deeply rooted, it becomes a metaphor for both personal reflection and the shared human experience.

Painted on deep-edged canvas, the painting continues round the sides, so framing is not needed, and it is ready to hang.
