Woodland River Reflections, 2026

This original painting captures the tranquil beauty of a river flowing through the Peak District, where shimmering reflections, graceful trees, and soft natural light combine to create a scene of timeless calm. Inspired by the unspoilt landscapes of this beautiful region, the artist seeks to convey its peaceful atmosphere and natural charm.

A celebration of place, light, and tranquillity, this evocative work invites the viewer to pause and connect with the restorative beauty of nature. As an original painting inspired by one of Britain's most beloved landscapes, it offers collectors a lasting and distinctive connection to the Peak District.

This is a one-of-a-kind original artwork, created using acrylic paints on a deep-edge canvas that requires no framing; the painting continues around the sides. The process begins with direct observation of place, supported by notes and photographs, before continuing intuitively in the studio. Initial layers are applied with a brush, followed by richly textured impasto built up with a palette knife. Techniques such as expressive dappled strokes, scumbling, and glazing are used to develop depth and luminosity. The painting continues until it reaches a natural conclusion.

The painting arrives ready to hang.
