About Federico Rizzo
Federico Rizzo is a contemporary Italian artist. His paintings exhibit a masterful handling of light and shadows that often suggest deep human emotions. A subtle continuous search dominates his still life painting. The depiction of fruit and laid tables seems inspired by seventeenth-century still life painters such as Adriaen Coorte and the Italian painter Artemisia Gentileschi. Photographer and documentarian, he transformed the art of observing and manipulating the lights and shadows of the real world into the art of painting. He paints in a traditional way, preparing himself with gesso primer, his linen canvases and wooden tables.
