A Timeless Magic is a semi-abstract South Downs-inspired landscape painting with red poppies and pheasants. It is 36 x 36 x 1.5 inches. The painting pays tribute to my many walks up and down the hills of East Sussex, which are always breathtaking. This spot is near Ditchling, and the painting was made mostly from my memory of a late summer afternoon walk. There is a timelessness to hills, as they have not changed as much as other landscapes in England have. Spotting pheasants among poppies was a beautiful thing to see, and I am happy to have caught this moment in time. The various layers and paint glazes give the overall impression of this scene being realistic, but also strange when you look closer. Painted on deep-edge canvas, with white edges, ready to hang, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
