About Ivan Jones

Ivan is a pastel artist living and working in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside, having been brought up in Nottinghamshire.

He was introduced to pastel as a teenager by a friend of his father's and in fact still has remnants of his first set of pastels.

About this Artwork

I enjoy creating pastel paintings of kingfishers and have sold a number of them in the past. The reference photo I worked from for this striking kingfisher was taken by Barbara Mastrucci.
I completed this artwork using soft pastels (Rembrandt and Artspectrum) and pastel pencils (a mixture of Derwent, Cretacolor, Conte a Paris and Faber Castell) on Artspectrum Colourfix paper.
The dimensions are of the painting itself. The gold framed dimensions are 38 cm by 48 cm on the wall.
