About Tomas Castaño Artist
Tomás Castaño was born in Santander (Spain) in 1953. An internationally recognised, self-taught artist, he has forged himself through determination and enthusiasm, opting for a realistic pictorial style, which he approaches by capturing constructed and well-drawn compositions. Concerned with composition and drawing, he controls perspective and also the skills that have led him to achieve a status as a landscape designer characterised by his architectural work.
His work is characterised by a serene and poetic realism, which translates the artist's delight in the expression of traditional streets, buildings and façades. His paintings capture the magic of ancient aesthetics and transmit all the warmth and humanisation of environments not transformed by current life.
