About this Artwork

This painting was the result of a friend describing his experience in the British Army Parachute Regiment, specifically the initial training.

Opaque pigments are used to lay down some areas, also acting as undercoating for some subject matter. Subsequent thinner layers of acrylic paint have been applied. This thin multiple layering of pigment allows for a degree of luminosity, avoiding the usual flat acrylic finish. Finished with a coat of varnish, this not only protects the painting but has a unifying effect.
