Abstract Autumn Wood is a radiant, vibrantly coloured woodland-inspired painting of the ever-changing light through trees in a forest clearing. It is 36 x 24 x 1.5 inches. The vertical lines, painterly brushstrokes, thick paint and drips capture the dappled light and sunbeams you get in woodland, where the colours vary continually with the season and time of day.
I tried not to get too detailed with anything in this painting, as I wanted to show my memory impressions of walking in an autumn wood, which captures the mood and feeling of it rather than its botanical accuracy. The yellows, golds, greens and pinks contrast in interesting ways with the teal, light blues and purples, and these also change continually as the sun moves around the room. This is a place to dream.
Painted on deep-edge canvas with white edges, ready to hang and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
