Casa Batlló Under a Red Sky

Casa Batlló stands at the centre of this painting, its façade shimmering in turquoise, green and flecks of red, like scales catching the light. Above it, the blue roof curves like the back of a dragon, crowned by the small turret and its cross.

The sky is a deep, fiery red-orange, which makes the cool greens of the building feel even brighter. Warm yellow neighbouring façades and lush green trees frame the scene on both sides, and the arched windows at street level glow in red and gold.
