About Federico Rizzo
Federico Rizzo is a contemporary Italian artist. His paintings exhibit a masterful handling of light and shadows that often suggest deep human emotions. A subtle, continuous search dominates his still life painting. The depiction of fruit and laid tables seems inspired by seventeenth-century still life painters such as Adriaen Coorte and the Italian painter Artemisia Gentileschi. As a photographer and documentarist, he mutated the art of observing and manipulating lights and shadows of the real world into the art of painting. He paints in a traditional way, preparing his linen canvas and wood tables with gesso primer.
