This dancer is taking a break/interval from rehearsing and where once she may have read a magazine or paperback, she now uses her mobile phone. I wanted to show this almost complete change as to what we now do when we are in public, but alone. Also, the relaxed state of the individual is contrasted with the flexible limbs of the dancer with her legs akimbo. I like to use an abstract background against the figure, I am not sure why, other than it pleases me.
