About the Product
Colour Limited Edition.
For the first time, we are offering beautiful, premium-quality, colour prints, measuring 25 x 20in (63.5 x 51cm) from Marilyn’s historic photoshoot with celebrated photographer, Joseph Jasgur. Each print has been meticulously produced on Hahnemühle Photorag 308gsm fine art stock.
Marilyn, then a brunette named Norma Jeane Doughtery, first worked with Joseph Jasgur, in 1946, at the age of 19. She had no money, but Jasgur was impressed with her burning desire to become a model. He remembers: “She was just a plain ordinary girl with two sets of clothes - one she had on, one in the laundry.” However, Norma Jeane would transform into something magical, when Jasgur pointed his camera in her direction. Fascinated with his new discovery, he shot with her over a period of two weeks. This stunning portrait was captured at Zuma Beach, Malibu, in March, 1946. Famously, Norma Jeane used the images from this shoot in her promotion portfolio, which led to her first break in the industry.
Each of these exclusive prints, from a limited edition of five hundred, have been registered on Hahnemühle’s Fine Art Registry using a unique certificate and hologram regime to protect their authenticity and exclusivity. Each print comes with its own certificate of authenticity.
