Green is my favourite colour. It is the colour of nature, life and spring. Seeing the varieties of green come alive in the spring and summer has always made me smile since I was a young boy.
I remember the tree outside my window as a child. The way the green leaves danced in the sunlight as the wind blew. The backside of the leaf a slightly muted version of the bright light green of the frontside. I can still see that little tree.
Kermit The Frog once sang that "it's not easy being green". I really liked that song because it was about my favourite colour, but I never agreed with the initial premise of the song. Green can be subtle, muted, dull and easily ignored, but it is the colour of nature. Green is often bright, pretty, and full of subtle variations. This can be said of any colour, but since green is so abundant in the outdoors, its variances are on full display. Whenever I stop and look at that display - the play between the subtle shades of green - I find it are awe inspiring. Green is beautiful.
I have always loved green.
Small abstract work on unstretched canvas comes framed and ready to hang.
This painting sketch is a preamble for a series of large abstract paintings.
Small unstretched canvas work that can be hung in whatever orientation that you choose. Image will appear differently depending on which way that you hang it. Consider the image as I display it, then rotate 90 degrees and look at it again. Find the orientation that speaks to you. This is part of the joy of abstract painting.
My signature appears on the front of the work and my Certificate of Authenticity is included.
