Charcoal study on paper

After years of frustration trying to free up my painting style when using my photos as a reference, I decided to start doing charcoal studies and use my imagination.

I really enjoy the results of mark making using charcoal and charcoal powder allowing more freedom and emotion in all of my work as a result of this decision.
