April Shimmers is a semi-abstract, springtime-inspired landscape painting of apple blossom trees by a river. It is 30 x 30 x 1.5 inches. The inspiration for it was a memory I have of this river and the blossom trees as I saw them one April a few years ago. I spent a little while just enjoying the moment and listening to the birds and the trickling of the river. Anyone who paints will know that the difficulty when painting nature is that there is so much of it. You can’t paint every leaf and every flower, so you have to find a way to show the feeling of it – which I am confident I have achieved. It will give me spring whenever I need it – especially in an English winter when the promise of spring is really needed! Painted on deep-edge canvas, with grey, green and purple edges; ready to hang and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
