Summer Meadow with Swallows is a 30x30x1.5 inches oil on canvas of a wildflower-filled summer meadow with two swallows dancing over it. This painting is semi-abstract, art nouveau and expressionist in style and was my valiant attempt to capture a moment last August when I was in a meadow near Lingfield in Surrey. There was an abundance of colours in the wildflowers, perfumes given out by flora and fauna, the buzzing and whine of insects and constant jubilant birdsong. Swallows were flying over and around me very quickly, and as I tried to focus on the birds, the flowers and trees and grasses in the fields and meadows beyond them slid out of focus as the painting itself reflects some degree. It gave me a timeless feeling, and I wanted to catch and immortalise this particular moment
