“Sunrise In Bahamas” is an original acrylic on canvas painting, covered with a thin layer of resin to protect and boost the colours. It is one of my latest artworks, created in 2018.
My inspiration comes from my last summer holiday in Bahamas – beautiful nature, hot weather and bright colours! I would not try to describe it poetically as I am not a poet but I hope that you can see it with my eyes through my paintings!
In this particular work, I am trying to capture the beautiful landscape of Paradise Island, Nassau. It has several gold sand beaches. And in the mornings when the sun is rising, the power of nature is waking with beautiful colours: the pink, purple, blue, yellow and grey colour of the night is disappearing.
I am using acrylic paint that allows me to mix watercolour techniques with layering paint when needed to represent better the connection between water fluidity and earth texture. The resin layer gives it a silky shine look, which reflects the light. Through this work, I am inviting you to mix your inspirations and emotions with mine.
