Mount Batur was never part of my plans. We took a jeep ride to the mountain early in the morning because I wanted to show my husband the best places on Bali Island. He is passionate about cars and motorcycles, so he was busy discussing jeeps with the local guide. Meanwhile, I wandered around, searching for interesting textures and sights. I used the jeep to climb to a higher vantage point and take a photo. Just at that moment, the summit emerged from the fog to reveal itself to us.
