About Irina Wolfe

Irina Wolfe is a freelance photographer based in Millheim, USA, whose work is defined by a graphic designer’s eye and a sculptor’s sensibility. Her artistic foundation, built on illustration and graphic design, directly informs a photographic style centered on powerful composition. She is drawn to bold geometries, strong lines, and the deliberate use of contrast, negative space, and deep shadow.

Her journey began with a camera purchased out of an admiration for sculptural form, which evolved into a dedicated passion for the emotional clarity of black-and-white photography. This focus on tone and structure is occasionally punctuated by forays into color, often expressed through a minimalist lens—a practice that mirrors her pursuit of balance and simplicity beyond the frame.

About this Photography

The Pamukkale pools surprised me with their curvy shapes and shallow areas. In some places, they were filled with waters of pure turquoise color, while in others, they resembled a desert, though still full of texture. Only the black and white shots reveal the interplay of shadow and light. I am so impressed that I am determined to return there one day and explore more of those waters, walking both up and down.
