About Irina Wolfe

Irina Wolfe is a freelance photographer based in Millheim, USA, whose work is defined by a graphic designer’s eye and a sculptor’s sensibility. Her artistic foundation, built on illustration and graphic design, directly informs a photographic style centered on powerful composition. She is drawn to bold geometries, strong lines, and the deliberate use of contrast, negative space, and deep shadow.

Her journey began with a camera purchased out of an admiration for sculptural form, which evolved into a dedicated passion for the emotional clarity of black-and-white photography. This focus on tone and structure is occasionally punctuated by forays into color, often expressed through a minimalist lens—a practice that mirrors her pursuit of balance and simplicity beyond the frame.

About this Photography

Many years ago, this place was photographed in the rice fields, which had no houses and were still under development. I often took walks there to enjoy the wilderness and the cultivated land. Once the rice is harvested, the leftover grass is allowed to remain for a month to rest. After that, it is cut and burned. The remnants are mixed into the soil and left underwater to allow the field to breathe, enabling air and water to penetrate and nourish the soil. Only after this process are the new young plants planted in the soil. In the background, you can always see the clouds. They appear small in comparison to the palm trees, but in reality, they are vast and breathtaking.
