About MERCEDES APARICIO
BIOGRAPHY
MERCEDES APARICIO is a well-known Cantabrian artist, she was born in Santander, Cantabria, Spain.
Mercedes early childhood took place in a house on the countryside, she grew up in freedom and close to nature.
She remembers with great love the loving care of her grandfather, parents, two aunts and two oncles living around her.
At the age of 5 she started at school and was graduated of the Bachelor in the Institute of Astillero, Santander.
1966 her parents went to live to Switzerland so that she had to start early and intensively to learn German and French, then she went to the school -Steingutschule- in Schaffhausen.
Mercedes was a very spiritually young woman.
She started to study music in Schaffhausen.
After, she studied in the high school Dolmetcherschule Zürich: German, Spanish and English.
But she was always searching for her vocation, as she discovered art and enrolled in the Art School in Bern.
In 1985 she started to do expositions in Santander, Cantabria, Madrid, Asturias, Gijon, Bilbao, Logroño, all over Spain, in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Paris, etc.
