This is one of the first in a series of abstract, geometrical pieces on wood, exploring texture, colour, and geometrical shapes. This piece is sublime in its messy, chaotic order of colour, line, and texture. You can almost feel and taste the candy-like vibrant colour! This piece is unique within the series in that the sides of the painting and colours fade into oblivion and the outlines of colours and shapes in black and white give it more depth of field and make the colours pop in a wonderfully three-dimensional way. You feel like you could reach into the piece and touch each shape, hence the title "Push My Buttons". The texture and bold colours in this piece are happy and inviting.
