About Natalia Shchipakina

Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques oil painting is my favourite.

Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by such famous artists like Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan, Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso.

About this Artwork

A continuation of my series of paintings dedicated to Hong Kong. I used my favourite subject with red sailing ships Aqua Luna: traditional Chinese boat with bright red sails. These iconic sailboats take panoramic cruises around Victoria Harbour, allowing passengers to enjoy stunning views of the cityscape. An important element of this work is the sun, which flooded the whole harbour with its golden light. Oil, canvas. Signed. Varnished.
