About Natalia Shchipakina
Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques oil painting is my favourite.
Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by such famous artists like Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan, Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso.
The painting Girl on the Ball made a big impression on me in my childhood.

The painting depicts the face of the god Dionysus. It occupies almost the entire canvas. In the background, abstract touches hinting at the wine theme are visible. Dionysus is one of the most important mythological characters, in the ancient god of the grape-harvest, winemaking, fertility, insanity, ritual madness, religious ecstasy, etc. The artist used her own conceptual style. The trick of the canvas is to convey the deep pathetic gaze of Dionysus, while the eyes are devoid of details. Varnished and signed.
