About Natalia Shchipakina
Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques oil painting is my favourite.
Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by such famous artists like Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan, Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso.
The painting Girl on the Ball made a big impression on me in my childhood.

In ancient Greek mythology and religion, Selene (Moon) is the goddess and personification of the Moon. Also known as Mene, she is traditionally the daughter of the Titans Hyperion and Theia, and sister of the sun god Helios and the dawn goddess Eos. She drives her moon chariot across the heavens. Her Roman equivalent is Luna. The Moon itself has held significance in various cultures throughout ancient times for several reasons, both practical and symbolic. The Moon's phases were used for tracking time, leading to the development of lunar calendars. Farmers used lunar cycles for planting and harvesting, believing it influenced soil moisture. Sailors used the Moon for navigation, as its position and phases provided a natural source of light. The Moon often had symbolic meanings in various ancient cultures, tied to deities and myths. Oil, canvas. Signed. Varnished.
