About Claudia Daminato
I am a painter from Padua who approached painting in 2016, rediscovering the passion for drawing abandoned in the years following his adolescence. Having not attended art schools or courses, these years have been a journey of study and discovery for me. It was a journey that changed me profoundly, from which I can no longer return and I don't know where it will take me again.
Painting for me is getting lost and finding yourself. It is in that moment, when the world is silent, alone, that I discover who I am, I find who I was. I was a little girl who loved to draw, especially portraits, and who lived in fantasy. Like now.
In my paintings I try to give life to the subjects portrayed by pursuing the perfection of hyperrealism. To this day, animals definitely remain my main source of inspiration, but I want to be able to wander and experiment. Through them I can tell a thought, a feeling, a poem, a story or simply the beauty in what I see. Painting like any other artistic form is an expression of ourselves and for this reason I feel I want to give what I am, and we are never just one thing. Depth and lightness can coexist. Fantasy and reality can meet; Precisely for this reason, in addition to the constant search for improvement and attention to detail, I also want to let my imagination speak, inserting non-real elements into the context, simply giving life to the images I have in my head. It's a bit of letting go.
Even though I mainly focus on realistic painting, I feel the need to indulge in my other ideas too, creating paintings closer to the cartoon style.
The starting point of each of my paintings is always a photo, taken or searched for on the internet or several photos which in some cases I assemble thanks to the use of photo editing programs, which allow me to visualize the idea I have in mind and to see what the finished painting will look like.
I paint with acrylic on canvas and use stencils to create patterns on the backgrounds.
