One of my popular yellow paintings. I love the emotion in this pose and have tried to simplify it down to its very essence — less is more.
If I'd filled it all in, the lower, less important parts would compete with the focal point (largely the face, hands and suggestion of pose). The eye is drawn to the face and the brain (having been given enough clues) fills in the lower parts.
This is a brand new print run (7 sold already). Near-perfect digital reproductions are available. They come with a certificate of authenticity and are signed and numbered.
Each is printed on beautiful Hahnemühle Leonardo Canvas 390 gsm, a white, poly-cotton canvas that guarantees archival standards.
Its surface is water-resistant and hard-wearing.
