Walk. Space. Spaceships. 65x80 centimeters. Modern art. Canvas, Oil, 65Х80 cm
This work is painted in oil on canvas.
It depicts the Soviet descent module of the automatic interplanetary station "Venera-9"
This is the first device to take photographs and videos from the surface of the red planet.
The automatic interplanetary station Venera-9 was launched on June 8, 1975 by a Proton-K launch vehicle.
On October 22, 1975, the descent module of the Venera 9 station entered the planet’s atmosphere. After descent - first by parachute, and then with the help of an aerodynamic brake flap - the descent vehicle made a soft landing on the side of the planet Venus, illuminated by the Sun, but invisible from the Earth. At the landing sites of the descent module, the temperature and pressure at the surface of the planet were 460°C and 90 atm. On the planet Venus there are often showers of hydrochloric and sulfuric acid, hurricanes and winds on this planet reach speeds of 90 meters per second
Television images of the surface of Venus were transmitted from the lander to Earth.
The lander survived in such conditions for only 68 minutes and provided numerous information on the study of the planet.
The spacecraft's optics were made of diamond-coated rock crystal. other optics would not have withstood such pressure and the caustic atmosphere.
