Butterfly - Being and Time, 2019

This one-of-a-kind oil painting by Iryna Fedarava depicts a butterfly hovering in space above the light.
When I look at this picture, I have a question: what is Time and what is Being?
This painting is filled with symbols and meanings that you can imagine.
This painting with a wonderful butterfly took part in the VII International Exhibition of Contemporary Art at the National Center of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Belarus in October 2019.
I used mother-of-pearl paint in copper and blue shades to create a shimmering background. The painting is varnished. The sides are painted. Ready to hang.
The painting is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist herself.
