The right eye of a Grévy's zebra can be seen in close-up against a blueish background. Shot with a Nikon D800 at the Parque de la Naturaleza de Cabárceno, near Santander, Spain, in June 2017.

This image won first place in Art Room Gallery's 'Nature' competition in March 2018 (see video) and was runner-up in the Guardian readers' travel photography competition for August 2017:

This image also won a Special Recognition award in Light Space & Time's Nature Art Exhibition and was shortlisted in the Wildlife Insight category of the 2017 Outdoor Photographer of the Year award.
