About Natalia Shchipakina

1Exhibition

Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques, oil painting is my favourite.

Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by famous artists such as Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan and Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso.

About this artwork

Dionysus is the ancient god of wine and revelry. He is associated with the pleasures of life. Dionysus is also linked to the theatre and is a symbol of both the joyful and chaotic aspects of human existence. In this painting I depicted Dionysus outside of time, trying to combine ancient mythology and modern art. Much attention was paid to colours and shades. Oil on canvas. Signed. Varnished.
